“World Bi-Polar Day “
World Bipolar Day – March 30
World Bipolar Day is observed annually on March 30 to raise awareness about bipolar disorder, reduce stigma, and promote understanding and support for those living with the condition. The day brings together individuals with lived experience, families, mental health professionals, and communities to encourage open conversations about mental health and the importance of access to care. It is held on the birthday of Vincent van Gogh, who is widely believed to have experienced bipolar disorder.
The 2026 global theme, #BipolarStrong, highlights resilience, hope, and the collective strength of individuals and communities affected by bipolar disorder. The theme encourages people to recognize the courage of those living with the condition while continuing to challenge stigma and misinformation through education and dialogue.
World Bipolar Day also emphasizes the importance of community support, early awareness, and access to mental health care. With the right support systems, treatment, and understanding, many people living with bipolar disorder lead meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Further, in -house training on various topics, are organized, to build members’ capacity. This is an going process as PMWC-Ke is keen to, create a dynamic resource pool of lay counsellors within its’ membership.
In terms of Research, PMWC-Ke is putting the necessary structures in place to collaborate /work on projects
This focus area, operates on the ground, and promotes Mental Health (MH) through initiatives such as talks, workshops and sports-centered activities. The awareness targets learners, teachers and parents, to improve mental wellness, improve relationships and reduce stress.
